When Abby and Matt asked me to capture their fall wedding at Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol, Rhode Island, I couldn’t have been more excited. Not only did their bold, rich palette of reds and oranges perfectly complement the autumn season, but this couple holds a special connection for me. My husband, a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, actually worked with both Abby and Matt when they were athletes at one of his previous jobs! Although I didn’t know them personally back then, I feel so lucky to have had the chance to work with them now—they are such a warm, light-hearted couple who truly let their emotions shine.

Bristol can sometimes present logistical challenges for weddings, but Abby and Matt made things so seamless by renting two Airbnbs right next to their venue at the Herreshoff Marine Museum. The girls’ house was the ideal spot for getting ready, and having everything within walking distance made the day so much easier for everyone.

The ceremony took place at the historic St. Mary’s Church in Bristol, which is a favorite for weddings in the area—and for good reason. Watching Abby and Matt exchange vows in this gorgeous setting was such a privilege.

After the ceremony, we headed to the Herreshoff Marine Museum for portraits and the reception. This venue is truly one of a kind—where else can you take portraits inside historic boats? Abby and Matt’s lightheartedness and willingness to embrace the uniqueness of the setting made for some incredible shots.

The reception tent, set right along the waterfront, provided a perfect view of the most stunning sunset I’ve ever seen. Honestly, it looked too perfect to be real—it was as if the sky had been painted just for them! The bold reds and oranges of their decor complemented the natural beauty of the setting, creating a cohesive and vibrant atmosphere.

One thing about Abby and Matt—they know how to throw a party. From heartfelt toasts that had everyone tearing up to a packed dance floor full of energy, this celebration was everything a wedding should be. Their reception images perfectly capture the joy, connection, and sheer fun that made the night unforgettable.

Abby and Matt embody everything I love about weddings. They weren’t afraid to show their emotions, whether it was joyful tears or full-on laughter. Their genuine connection and go-with-the-flow attitudes made my job so enjoyable and allowed me to capture the day authentically.

I’ll leave you with this sweet review Abby shared after the wedding:
“Erin is talented, kind, completely capable, and a get-it-done businesswoman. She effortlessly helps couples navigate a very busy and costly time of their lives with EASE. I feel gracious to have had her as a huge part of our wedding process, and the pictures come as a massive added bonus.

Her skill behind the camera is beautifully thoughtful, capturing not only all the things you ask of her but MUCH more. Thank you, Erin, from the bottom of our hearts. If you are questioning working with Erin, this is where you can stop. She is worth every penny and then some. Thank you thank you thank you!”

Abby and Matt, thank YOU for letting me be part of such a special day. Your love, energy, and connection are truly inspiring, and I wish you all the happiness in the world as you begin this new chapter together.
